Sawyer has always been smiling. When he was a baby, I would daily tell his mother, “He smiles all the time. He’s going to be such a sweet boy.” In one of my favorite pictures of Sawyer, he is smiling enough for at least five or six babies. Maybe more.
As you may know, things are constantly changing with babies. Their temperament grows and changes along with their bodies, but Sawyer’s smile never changed.
Even as a young boy, when he would get angry, his smile would always break through whatever emotion was at the surface. He would have to act angrier than he ever really was so people would believe him.
I want to let you know about this boy because he is a light in the world. He is pure of heart, a once-in-a-lifetime person, and I hope you get the chance to meet him someday.
If you find yourself on a playground, and are looking for a friend to run with, I hope you meet Sawyer.
If you are at the library and want to share with someone a wonderful book you just found, or poem that resonated in your soul, I hope you meet Sawyer.
If you need a companion who will lighten the load, whether in your heart or from your back, I hope you meet Sawyer.
If you want a sighting of God, a tracing of His love, a view of His majesty and unmerited Grace, I hope you meet Sawyer.

Such a thoughtful piece!
